Biographical Information

Eric Gang, the Founding Partner of Gang & Associates, has a long-standing reputation as an aggressive and tenacious client advocate.  Eric is a strategist who will analyze case strengths and weaknesses, develop a precise game plan and drive your case toward a successful resolution. As a lecturer for Mensa, the high IQ society, he brings unparalleled intellectual prowess to every case and excels in the arena of the complex.  His effective approach and winning track record have resulted in Gang & Associates earning a reputation as a firm that “sets the tone” and wins cases that others thought were unwinnable.  Eric has litigated more than 1,000 appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and has won some of the largest awards in VA history.  But Eric’s focus remains the same: Provide aggressive, hard-hitting and unparalleled legal representation at the highest and most efficient level.

You can’t fake competence in the tangled and complex world of veterans law.  The applicable federal rules and regulations are a proverbial Gordian Knott of laws and there is no place in this niche for the intellectually lazy.  And high-level advocacy requires a deep understanding of the medical, emotional, and psychological and issues that effect veterans. Eric has a reputation as having an uncanny level of medical knowledge.  Eric knows the issues that affect veterans’ health and his ability to holistically understand the interrelationship between body systems has allowed him to find strategic pathways to victory in cases that VA has repeatedly denied for decades.

Eric’s approach is reflected in his book, Betrayal of Valor (Sutton Hart 2022) and has done much to advance his reputation as an influencer.  Eric’s successes and passionate dedication to the firm’s clients have resulted in him being  recognized by the major legal rating organizations, including the National Law Journal.

Eric also serves as the Executive Director for The Disabled Veterans Resource Center, a nonprofit organization whose focus is to provide resources to disabled veterans.  Eric’s commitment to veterans law extends to passing along his knowledge to other lawyers, training and mentoring many others in this complex field of law.  Eric teaches continuing legal education, and is a faculty member at Lawline where he teaches veterans law.  He also lectures for the state Bar Association, and has been a guest lecturer at Princeton University.  He has been feature on Fox News and Fox Business as well as numerous print media outlets across the country.

These honors and distinctions affirm Eric as one of the top-rated veterans lawyers in the country. Having begun his career as a New York City litigator and Founding Partner of Gang & Associates, Eric balances persistence, insight, knowledge and compassion in order to provide his firm’s clients with exceptional representation. Eric’s service-focused approach and strategic vision have translated into to rapid growth for Gang & Associates, which today operates with satellite offices throughout the country. The firm’s reputation and success has attracted some of the best, most talented and experienced veterans law attorneys to join the firm, including a former chief judge from the Board of Veterans Appeals.  Eric’s strategic planning and goal-oriented approach is the standard at Gang & Associates. Every case involves strategic, focused and insightful planning. This regularly results in successful outcomes when other attorneys simply said, “it couldn’t be done.” Eric maintains involvement in cases at Gang & Associates, and often assumes a lead role in cases that involve highly complex medical and legal issues.

While practicing law for 25 years, Eric believes that every adversity brings with it a seed of equal or greater value. Eric’s vision for the firm’s clients is not limited to only litigation success. The firm has a genuine culture of caring for their client’s well-being.

Eric excels at strategizing client cases by often anticipating issues and understanding the medical aspects of their cases and health. Eric is admitted to practice law before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the U.S. District Court (District of New Jersey).  Eric is a member of the New Jersey and New York bar.

Outside of law, Eric is an athlete, avid adventurer, and explorer.  His hobbies and interests include mountaineering and endurance sports.  Eric is also an art collector and musician.  Eric also has many side business interests and does provide business consulting to a select group of private clients.
