Biographical Information

Michael Malvey is a Senior Partner at Galfand Berger. Since joining the firm in 2002, Mike has handled hundreds of cases within the personal injury department, including automobile accidents, premises liability cases, construction site accidents, products liability matters, and medical malpractice cases. Mike has personally brought to verdict or settlement over 250 cases exceeding $25 million dollars in combined recoveries. Working with his team of Galfand Berger attorneys, Mike has helped the firm obtain some of the largest, multi-million-dollar client recoveries in Pennsylvania history.

Proficient in Spanish, Mike also proudly represents members of the Latino and Hispanic communities throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mike is currently serving as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Esperanza Immigration Legal Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to offering low-cost legal services to immigrants and their families in the Philadelphia area. Mike also volunteers to sit as an Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, has performed pro bono work for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, and has organized Galfand Berger’s annual food drive, which has donated over two tons of food to a local charity.

Mike is an experienced trial attorney, having successfully brought numerous jury trials to verdict as well as appearing before Arbitration panels, appellate courts, and at hearings throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mike also has a successful track record of handling appellate matters before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has been included in The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers – Pennsylvania each of the last six years..

A fierce advocate for workers, Mike proudly represents the United Steelworkers and other labor organizations in Federal labor and employment cases. Mike has provided seminars to Union officers across Pennsylvania on the rights of Unions and their members.

Mike has lived in Philadelphia his entire life, where he also attended college and law school. Mike’s talent for litigation was recognized early in his career, as he was awarded a Barrister’s Award for being the top student in his class in Temple Law School’s nationally recognized Trial Advocacy Program. Mike is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.
