Biographical Information

In more than 30 years of practice, Mr. Rubin has represented numerous Fortune 500 and privately held companies in the real estate, construction, pharmaceutical, wholesale consumer goods and apparel industries.  He is a graduate of CCNY and Brooklyn Law School, and serves on the Board of Directors of numerous not-for-profit corporations.  He has written and lectured extensively in the areas of real estate brokerage law, secured transactions and challenges facing the retail electronic industry.

Professional Experience

Mr. Rubin provides general counsel as he acts as a sounding board for new ideas and developments related to his clients’ respective businesses.  He also provides transactional and litigation services.  He creates practical solutions to serve his clients’ needs and solves problems within the framework dictated by his clients.

His client base is primarily in the construction and commercial real estate areas, including representation of the leading real estate brokers, commercial lenders, contractors and developers in the New York Metropolitan Area.  He is also general counsel for NATM, a prominent buying service for large electronic retailers throughout the United States, as well as serving as outside counsel for several large retail electronic chains.

Mr. Rubin has been chosen for inclusion for Super Lawyers of New York from 2006 to the present and is the highest rated lawyer in the area of representation of closely held corporations by that publication.  He has been AV rated by Martindale Hubbell for over 25 years.

Professional Associations

Howard M. Rubin serves as an Arbitrator and Member of Real Estate Board of New York as well as the American Arbitration Association.  He is also the President of the Herbert M. Citrin Charitable Foundation which provides grants in the areas of education and special needs.  He has also served as a member of the Board of Advisors of Sterling National Bank as well as on the board of numerous charitable organizations.  He is a recipient of the Mickey Mantle Community Service Award and the JCCA Humanitarian Award.
