Biographical Information
Jon is a senior partner in the firm. Since founding the firm in 1971, Jon has consistently maintained the largest active list of lobbying clients in the State and has earned a reputation as one of the State’s most effective legislative advocates. His practice is heavily involved in lobbying, administrative law, utilities, health care, banking, and legislative law, representing many varied clients before state regulatory bodies, the Maine State Legislature, and the Executive Branch of State Government. His health care practice includes the representation of hospitals; skilled nursing facilities; community health care facilities; mental health and substance abuse organizations. His practice in the financial and banking field ranges from legal/administrative matters to conversion and merger of financial institutions.
Jon was born in Augusta, Maine, February 9, 1938 and received his law degree from the University of Maine in 1961. He spent the next nine years in the Maine Attorney General’s office, serving as Assistant Attorney General for the Bureau of Taxation and as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Maine. Jon was also Counsel to the 106th Maine Legislature in 1972-1973, and in that capacity created the current Legislative Office of Policy and Legal Analysis.
