Biographical Information

While Mr. Williams has tried numerous cases to verdict on both the Plaintiff and Defense side, since 2008 after a successful battle against pancreatic cancer, he has limited his practice to representing Plaintiffs. In 2000 he obtained a $19,925,000.00 verdict for a Doctor terminated by an HMO for standing up for patients rights. The case was the subject of news and magazine coverage all over the country including the cover story of the June 6, 2001 MEDICAL ECONOMICS magazine. Mr. Williams firm, COLE, EASLEY, SCIBA & WILLIAMS  will celebrate its 61st anniversary representing injured workers and their families or other victims of negligence or fraud in business disputes in June 2015. He has successfully represented injured workers and their families in Texas, North Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming, Indiana, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida, and acted as co-counsel in other States. He has handled cases from Trinidad in the Caribbean, to Mexico and the off-shore and in-land waters of Africa, the North Sea and Switzerland.   Justin Williams and Jeff Weikum, of North Dakota’s Pagel Weikum who partner with Cole, Esley, Sciba & Williams in North Dakota oil & gas cases were interviewed for a  nationwide print article, and a radio and television documentary on the dangers of the oil industry in North Dakota which aired on both NPR and the PBS News Hour.  Mr. Williams won his greatest victory in 2008 when he underwent a “whipple” operation at M. D. Anderson and defeated pancreatic cancer. He and his wife have spent time counseling other cancer victims since this battle. Mr. Williams and his families battle with cancer provides the empathy for his courtroom success representing the injured. Mr. Williams is a 2015 member of the Texas Trial lawyers Association Board of Directors and concentrates his practice on catastrophic injuries in the oil field, chemical plants and highways, representing the victims of bad drugs and the pharmaceutical industry, medical negligence or product liability and insurance fraud. Mr. Williams is an experienced admiralty and maritime attorney having started his practice with the oldest maritime firm in the State of Texas. Prior to becoming a full time Plaintiff’s attorney, Mr. Williams was a successful Defense attorney representing Halliburton company and its affiliates, Mobil Oil Corporation and it’s affiliates and Westinghouse Electric corporation all over the world. He represented almost every major oil company, many service companies and a large number of Independents in trying numerous oil, gas, and chemical cases. This experience has proven advantageous to his representation of injured workers and their families.
