Biographical Information

Kyle is respected by colleagues and adversaries alike as one of the top, proven trial lawyers in the country. His fearless passion and common-sense approach have resulted in juries delivering record breaking verdicts across the country for his clients.  Very few lawyers can match his trial record – the results of which total well over $165 million in trial verdicts from juries in 4 different states, some of his most recent jury verdicts include the following:

  • $76 million verdict in product liability case
  • $33 million verdict for paper mill worker
  • $16.1 million verdict for an industrial incident
  • $15.5 million verdict for an industrial incident
  • $9.1 million verdict for a jones act seaman

Kyle’s results speak for themselves and confirm his status as one of the decorated trial attorneys in the country. His verdicts have been recognized by multiple publications and marked with several accolades for various years in verdict rankings publications, including a No. 1 burn injury verdict, No. 2 product liability verdict, No.3 brain injury verdict.

Kyle consistently delivers verdicts for his clients that are among the top 50 Texas personal injury verdicts every year.  However, his success is not limited to the lone star state, as his verdicts are consistently ranked among the top 50 and top 100 verdicts in yearly rankings for all of the United States.  For each of the last 5 years in a row, Kyle has secured a seven or eight figure verdict for his clients. His commitment to his clients has led to obtaining unprecedented results through settlements and trial, and he has personally recovered over $700 million in verdicts and settlements for clients throughout the country.

With licenses in Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico, Kyle aggressively represents plaintiffs in high profile maritime cases, plant explosions, trucking accidents, industrial accidents and other catastrophic events in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

Kyle has made a routine of achieving extraordinary results because of his commitment to hold others accountable on behalf of his clients, many of whom who are suffering from life changing tragedies. On numerous occasions, he has secured record breaking verdicts after a company refused to offer his clients a single dollar before trial.

Although Kyle knows he can’t always control the facts, he refuses to be outworked and his preparation and execution is unmatched. There are countless examples of cases where he has achieved better outcomes simply because he works harder and is better prepared than the attorneys for the corporations and insurance companies. Kyle knows how to win, and his clients come to learn that too.

One of Kyle’s proudest moments, among many, was the victory he obtained in 2018 representing a client who was seriously burned in an explosion, leaving him permanently impaired and disfigured. Kyle took on multiple companies who refused to settle the claims against them for fair value, because they alleged the money Kyle obtained from settling defendants for his client was so large that there was no risk a jury would award more than what his client had already been paid. The insurance companies bet wrong, and after a three-week trial – just one day after closing arguments – the jury came back with a $33 million dollar award, not including pre-judgment interest or punitive damages.  The result was more than 30 times what the companies had offered to settle the case before trial.

In 2019, Kyle represented a Jones Act seaman who was hurt off the coast of Africa.  Again, the company refused to settle prior to trial, and after two weeks of trial, the jury delivered a verdict of $9.1 million.

When not in front of a jury, Kyle is tirelessly representing his clients in depositions, mediations, and hearings. His zealous advocacy helps put him in a position to not only prepare his clients’ cases for trial, but to resolve cases for record breaking amounts before a trial even occurs. In recent years, Kyle has obtained the following top settlements:

  • $12.5 million for electrocution
  • $9 million for maritime personal injury
  • $8.9 million for jones act seaman
  • $8 million for commercial vehicle wreck
  • $8.2 million for welder involved in industrial incident

Kyle’s success as a trial lawyer isn’t recent – it started early in his career. After only a few years of practice he was one of the youngest attorneys to have been awarded lifetime memberships into both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollars Advocates Forum. These awards are only obtained by the few who are able to achieve verdicts and settlements exceeding one and two million dollars for their clients. He was also quickly selected by The National Trial Lawyers to be included as a “Top 40 Under 40” lawyer, and has earned this distinction multiple years in a row. This list represents a selection of 40 lawyers under the age of 40 who have a reputation of excellence among their peers and have obtained exemplary settlements and verdicts as a trial lawyer.  Kyle has also been selected for inclusion as a Lifetime Charter Member of Best Attorneys of America, and has been featured in Texas Monthly magazine as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star℠ in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.  In 2020 Texas Monthly magazine also recognized Kyle in the top 100 Up- And- Coming Attorneys in Texas.  In 2020 he was recognized as the Nation’s Top One Percent of trial lawyers by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. The American Institute of Trial Lawyers also recognized him as the 2020 Personal Injury Litigator of the year. He has also been awarded Best of the Bar – a designation reserved for the few lawyers with record-breaking verdicts.

Kyle is a sixth-generation Texan, who grew up in East Texas. After graduating high school in Tyler, Kyle attended the University of Texas in Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in government with business foundations, achieving university honors during his tenure. After working a successful early career in commercial real estate, Kyle left it behind, determined to make a career in the courtroom, and earning his law degree at South Texas College of Law.

Over a decade ago, Kyle started his legal career as a law clerk at Arnold & Itkin. He was one of the first lawyers to be hired at the firm immediately after graduating law school.
