Biographical Information

Mark Sieron graduated with honors from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism & Communications in 1981 and College of Law in 1984. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1985 and has practiced law for thirty years, primarily in Clay and Duval counties.

Mark began his career as a trial attorney while working as a law school intern in the State Attorney’s Office in 1984, successfully taking several cases to trial while still a law student. After his internship, State Attorney Ed Austin hired Mark as a full-time Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit (Clay, Duval, and Nassau Counties).  As a prosecutor, Mark prosecuted and tried cases ranging from DUI to Murder in Duval and Clay Counties.

Mark left the State Attorney’s Office in 1988 to enter private practice with the respected Orange Park firm of Kopelousos, Head, Smith, Townsend & Metcalf, P.A. After five years of handling criminal and complex civil trials, Mark became a partner in the firm, which continues to this day as Aguilar & Sieron P.A.

Mark has practiced in the field of criminal defense for almost 30 years. For over 15 years, attorneys and judges have honored him with an “AV-Preeminent” rating (highest possible) by Martindale-Hubbell, the nation’s oldest and most respected attorney rating service. In 2012, he was honored by 904/Jacksonville Magazine as one of Jacksonville’s best criminal defense lawyers. The National Trial Lawyers Association recently honored him as one of Florida’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers.

Mark is the only three-time President of the Clay County Bar Association and is an active member of the Florida Bar, Federal Bar of the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Bar, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Northeast Florida Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He is a supporter of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and frequently donates his time for the pro bono representation of needy clients.
