Biographical Information

Managing Partner, Mary Ann Morgan joined the law firm in 1986 following her graduation from the Florida State University College of Law.  Since that time, her accolades and awards have been numerous and span twenty-five years of achievement as a lawyer and community leader.

Ms. Morgan is serving her 6th year on the Board of Governors for the Florida Bar.  She is one of three attorneys from the Ninth Judicial Circuit (covering Orange and Osceola counties) to serve on this board which oversees nearly 100,000 attorneys in Florida.

In 2001-2002, Ms. Morgan was honored to serve as president of the Orange County Bar Association with a membership of 2,700 at that time.  The Orange County Bar Association established in 1933 has garnered national recognition from other bar associations for its history of relevant and quality programs.

In the Orange County Bar, 100% of the members participate in pro-bono work by donating a specific number of hours of legal expertise to help those who cannot afford to pay.  The Orange County Legal Aid Society benefits from this generous pro bono work and Ms. Morgan provided leadership as President to the Legal Aid Society in 1999-2000.

As a Florida Trial Lawyer herself, she also served on the Board of Directors for the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association.

In 1993, Mary Ann was selected to serve on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Three years later, in 1996, she became chair of that committee. For the last 2 decades, Ms. Morgan has conducted programs for the Florida Bar Speakers Bureau. Mary Ann has a heart for young people and a desire to help them understand and appreciate our country’s constitutional principles, which form the backbone of our nation.

Early in her career, Mary Ann began volunteering as a Guardianship attorney for the Orange County Legal Aid Society, setting up the legal guardianships to help children who are sometimes abandoned or for another reason are without parents.  Today, twenty years later, her office bulletin board displays pictures of more than fifty children for whom she has served as a Guardianship attorney.  One of her children was two-years old when she opened his case. Next to his two-year-old baby picture is the picture of an 18-year old boy smiling at his high school graduation. This is what motivates Mary Ann.

Mary Ann has excelled as a consumer justice attorney and received the highest accolades from her peers and professional associations. She earned the premier AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, one of the nation’s prominent attorney rating systems.  The AV peer review rating illustrates that a lawyer has reached the height of professional excellence, practiced law for more than ten years, and is recognized for their superior levels of skill and integrity. Ms. Morgan has also been listed for more than 10 years in the national publication of Who’s Who in American Law.

In April 2007, the firm proudly announced that Ms. Morgan was one of only four women attorneys from the state of Florida to be inducted into the nation’s Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff’s Lawyers. These 500 lawyers represent the nation’s most trusted attorneys in the courtroom who chiefly represent individuals, whether in solo or class claims of essentially any nature from car accidents to defective product claims.

In addition, Mary Ann also received recognition as a Florida Super Lawyer. To determine the designations, an independent research company surveys 44,000 lawyers across the state of Florida. From that survey, the top 5 percent of Florida attorneys in more than 60 practice areas are awarded the title as Florida Super Lawyers. Ms. Morgan is in Florida’s top 5 percent of civil trial attorneys as a Florida Super Lawyer.

In 2000, Ms. Morgan was awarded membership into The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an eminent group of trial lawyers in the United Sates. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won for their client million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Fewer than 1% of the United States lawyers are members. The quality of the membership is impressive and includes top trial lawyers in the country. Their practice areas include major personal injury, product liability, malpractice, construction, environmental, employment, insurance and business litigation.  Ms. Morgan has demonstrated, in an objective and tangible manner, her ability to accomplish superior results in complex cases.

Mary Ann and her husband Patrick have been married for 20 years. They have a daughter in high school.  She and her husband have close ties to St. Margaret Mary church in Winter Park.

Mary Ann’s peers, colleagues, staff and community notably recognize her as a woman with judicious legal expertise, a genuine care for others, and an infectious sense of humor.
