Biographical Information

Matthew Tandy is the founder and lead attorney at Tandy Law Firm, where he brings over a decade of diverse legal experience to his practice. He established his firm in 2013 to provide honest, results-driven representation grounded in personal attention and client trust.

After earning a Biology degree from Purdue University and conducting research at the VA Hospital, he discovered his passion for law through a Trial Practice course, which ultimately led him to earn his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

Matthew is recognized with an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell (Attorney Edition, 2013–Present; Judicial Edition, 2015–Present), awarded to attorneys demonstrating the highest legal ability and ethical standards. He has been named among the National Trial Lawyers’ “Top 100” for Personal Injury since 2013, and his firm has been honored as one of the “10 Best Law Firms” by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys (2014–Present). In 2016, he was selected among the “Nation’s Top One Percent” by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, and Tandy Law Firm holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Professional Experience

  • Attorney, Ken Nunn Law Office, October 2011-October 2012
    • Responsible for management of a caseload of over one hundred files. Conducted client interviews, as well as Counseling clients throughout the lifecycle of their case. Mediated numerous cases with many different insurance carriers, including State Farm, Allstate and Geico. Gained valuable experience as a plaintiff’s attorney in jury trials.
  • Attorney, Allstate, February 2010-October 2011
    • Handled all aspects of insurance defense. Responsible for management of caseload of approximately one hundred clients, conducting depositions, as well as written discovery. Mediated numerous settlements and first chaired several jury trials.
  • Attorney, Marion County Public Defender Agency, February 2007-February 2010
    • Responsible for all aspects of criminal litigation on behalf of clients. Responsible for negotiating plea agreements and/or preparing for trial. During time as public defender, tried over one hundred cases at the bench, as well as several jury trials.
