Biographical Information

Michele Lewane has a passion for defending the rights of the injured worker as evidenced by her over 30 years of trial experience as a workers’ compensation lawyer. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Michele received her undergrad from the University of Virginia and graduated at the top of her class at the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law. As part of her mission to stand up for the injured worker, Michele frequently speaks on workers’ compensation issues throughout the community. Since she knows how valuable it is to her clients that she is up on the latest in Virginia workers’ compensation law, she participates in Continuing Legal Education courses and has spoken at numerous conventions. She is an active member in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Workers Compensation section and the co-founder of Kids Chance of Virginia. Michele has written three books to educate people in Virginia on the workers compensation system; her most popular, The Ultimate Guide to Workers Compensation in Virginia, as well as the Ultimate Guide to Workers Compensation for Nurses in Virginia and The Ultimate Guide to Brain Injuries, can be ordered on our website for FREE. In addition to being legal counsel to injured workers, Michele is available to talk to your employees, association, civic, or church group on informing employees of their workers’ compensation rights. Michele adores her chickens and corgi, Chauncey. She loves the water and spends a lot of time at her river house in the summer jet skiing with her family. She has 4 children: Amanda, Emily, Sarah, and Christian, and 2 grandchildren: Joshua and Olivia.

Before starting her own practice, Michele was a partner at Hubard, Samuels & Lewane in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Prior to that, she was a Clerk at the Virginia State Court of Appeals.
