Biographical Information
Patrick Wooten is an accomplished attorney, military veteran, and community leader with a lifelong passion for serving others. Patrick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a minor in Military Science from Appalachian State University. Driven by a strong sense of justice and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the Mississippi College School of Law in 1994. Shortly thereafter, he was admitted to the Mississippi Bar and began his distinguished legal career. Additionally, he was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 2023.
Patrick currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Partner at Schwartz & Associates Injury Lawyer, P.A., Mississippi’s premier personal injury law firm. In this role, he not only oversees daily operations and strategic growth but also provides experienced legal counsel and advocacy to clients across the state. With more than 30 years of legal experience, Patrick is known for his unwavering commitment to justice, compassionate client service, and proven track record in personal injury law.
Patrick during his 30 plus years of legal practice has been recognized with a number of awards and honors for his client service and outstanding results for his clients. Some of his awards include Nation’s Top One Percent of Attorneys Award from The National Association of Distinguished Counsel, 10 Best Attorney – Exceptional Client Service Award from the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, 2023 Mississippi Trial Lawyer of the Year as awarded by the Top 100 Registry of Business Leaders and Professionals and Top 10 Trucking Trial Lawyers Award from The National Trial Lawyers
His professional affiliations reflect his dedication to advancing the legal profession in Mississippi. Patrick is a long-standing member of the Mississippi Association for Justice, an organization representing over 600 trial attorneys statewide. Patrick has served on the Board of Governors for MAJ, to ensure that Mississippians have access to civil justice. He has also contributed to the ethical standards of legal practice through his work on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee for the Mississippi Bar Association and is a member of the Capital Area Bar Association.
In addition to his civilian career, Patrick served honorably in the Mississippi Army National Guard for 24 years, retiring in 2014 with the rank of Major. Over the course of his military service, he earned numerous decorations, including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. Patrick was called to Active Duty in response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and deployed to Afghanistan from 2008 to 2009 during Operation Enduring Freedom, where he served as the Command Judge Advocate for the 168th Engineer Brigade, providing vital legal support in a combat zone.
Outside the courtroom, Patrick is a dedicated husband, father of three, and an active member of his church and local community. He and his family love to travel and Patrick enjoys reading and scuba diving.
