Biographical Information

For 30 years, Richard Hricik, a Charleston area attorney serving clients across all counties of South Carolina, has represented clients in personal injury claims, including, auto and trucking accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and civil rights violations. Richard has also appeared in the national and Charleston area news on his noteworthy cases and has served as a legal commentator for local television and radio.

A former professor with decades of legal experience, Richard has been recognized for excellence with the following awards and distinctions: SuperLawyer, Preeminent Rating (A/V) by Martindale-Hubbell, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, National Trial Lawyers Top 100 – South Carolina, and National Association of Distinguished Counsel. 

Licensed in South Carolina and Ohio, Richard has represented clients in both federal and state trial courts, as well as the 4th and 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. He is an active member of the American Association for Justice, a Board Member of the South Carolina Association for Justice, the Federal Bar Association, and the Charleston County Bar. 

Richard earned his law degree from The College of William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1993 receiving the Order of the Barristers award for outstanding oral advocacy. He clerked for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Attorneys Office in Washington, DC. He is also a cum laude graduate of Cleveland State University where he received his undergraduate degree in accounting.

In addition to serving clients at The Law Offices of Richard A. Hricik, Richard is committed to improving the safety and well-being of the greater community. He educates students on the dangers of Distracted Driving, supports conservation efforts, and donates a percentage of all fees earned to nonprofits and community organizations.
