Terry has practiced real estate law for over thirty-five years.  He represents developers and capital providers in the structuring, development and operation of a wide variety of projects across the United States.  These include medical, commercial, industrial, retail, resort, residential, condominium, affordable housing, historic preservation and mixed use development projects.  His real estate work includes land acquisition,  zoning, land use planning, entitlements, capital structuring and financing, title insurance, construction, ground and vertical leasing, property management, condominium and common interest structuring, and property disposition.

He has served as special counsel to governmental entities on complex land use issues and represents title insurance companies and insureds on title insurance matters. His practice includes dispute resolution of real estate related claims through litigation, arbitration and mediation. He serves as an expert witness, mediator and arbitrator on real estate and title insurance matters.

Terry has been named to the list of Colorado Super Lawyers for the years 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Terry was a principal drafter of legislation authorizing the electronic recording of documents by the Clerks and Recorders in the State of Colorado. He presents programs to both professional associations and trade associations on numerous real estate topics. He is active in the preservation and adaptive reuse of historic structures and is a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Historic Denver, Inc.
